Case Studies of Mechanical Design Engineering
Case Study - Elegant Perfume Bottle Design
Country: USA Industry: Consumer ProductsSoftware we used:
SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, 3D Max, RapidForm, 3D Scanning & Measurement Methodologies.
Design Challenge: Lots of R&D was involved in choosing right mechanism and a manufacturing technique that can deliver cost-effective Perfume Bottle Design.
A Consumer Product Company from the USA turned to Hi-tech CADD to provide most viable Mechanical design solution in order to meet functional and manufacturing objectives.
We got one interesting Reverse Engineering project of designing a perfume bottle with constraints of holding specific volume of liquid within the bottle. We got images of several bottles as input which was converted into full-fledged 3D model of bottles with caps & lids.
For this project our specialist team inspected a lot of empty perfume bottles to tear it open from various places and see for the exact mechanism that works inside it especially the sprayer mechanism which is the heart of the product. After doing a lot of R&D the most viable and cost effective mechanism was selected. The overall weight of the bottle, material, various parts of spray mechanism were also decided by us.
Key Benefits:
- Full-fledge 3D CAD Models for complete design analysis
- Surface inspection and analysis data
- Consultation on materials & manufacturing techniques to be used
- Ready-for-Manufacturing drawings
- Engineering Documents management
- Comprehensive Manufacturing support

Case Study - Siemens Case Study
We prepared 11,000 drawings of different types, which contained Control Circuit Diagrams and their Terminal Diagrams. All the drawings were distributed over 9 different lots with their respective deadlines.Scope of the work
We made modifications on control circuit diagrams as per the on-site changes made by the Engineer. The on-site changes were sent to us in hard copies. We converted those modified diagrams into (as-built) form. Further, we converted the given .dwf files into .dwg files.
Quality criteria and our performance
The Client had expected an accuracy level of 99%, which was easily achieved by our expert engineers. As a token of appreciation, we received 15% bonus on the overall cost. (as per the contract agreement)
